V1.1: Memories & Grit


Just a quick update: I've added in a new mechanic called Grit that better ties in the accumulation of memories into functional gameplay.

I wanted to truly deliver on the promise that this game is about the bonds that give us the strength to endure: and I think now, it better does!

As you play through the mysterious, dangerous mansion in search of your teammates, you collect memories fleshing out your relationships to each one of them – how you've learned from each other, how you've shared deep and difficult emotions, how you've survived past traumas.

Now, with the introduction of Grit, you're able to spend some of those memories to influence your game by re-rolling results in critical moments. 

When things come down to the wire, it's your bonds that spring to mind and spur you forward despite the odds. I think this makes the game a tiny bit more fun, and re-introduces memories with more in-game value, as they had in the original Escape from Demon Castle Dracula.
