My First Official Game
Hi all!
I just wanted to write a quick post to announce my first official release – The Mansion Incident – and show some love and appreciation to the game that inspired it all: Escape from Demon Castle Dracula by Rob Hebert (nerdypapergames.itch.io).
I got Escape as part of the Solo But Not Alone bundle (which is still running for another month!) full of great single-player tabletop RPGs. I played many of the games in the bundle but Escape from Demon Castle Dracula was my immediate run-away favorite. It had such fun, inventive, accessible mechanics and it was truly a blast to experience.
Rob's game is unofficially based on, as he puts it, "the greatest vampire-themed horror-adventure video game franchise of all time." Immediately after finishing my first playthrough my mind was swirling – as a huge fan of the entire multimedia Resident Evil franchise, I knew there was only one thing that could make this game more fun for me!
And so The Mansion Incident was born – unofficially based on the greatest zombie-theme survival horror video game franchise of all time. It has a few additional twists and turns thrown into the mechanics, a brand new narrative and codex of card meanings, and a whole lot of love for building lore, characters, and found-family dynamics.
I hope you'll check it out, and show some love to Rob's game as well.
If there is enough interest in The Mansion Incident, I'd love to pour donations into commissioning some beautiful original art for the game and delivering an even more visually dynamic product in future releases. I already have an incredible artist in mind that I know would knock it out of the park! Perhaps there might even be some expansions looming in the future with more characters, a new setting (did someone say Schmacoon Schity?)((I kid, there would be a better in-game name)), new baddies, and all kinds of new memories to make.
Let me know what you think of the game – it's my first, and I'm happy to take and respond to any and all feedback! But sitting on the incredible core mechanics designed by Rob, I'm hopeful it will still be a blast for you.

Haha, slightly awkward.

My bundled adventure was also going to be called The Mansion Incident, for reasons that are fairly obvious.
But I reckon this town is big enough for the two of us! I'm happy to change the name of my adventure so that I don't step on your toes. We are kindred spirits in our enthusiasm for the greatest zombie-themed survival horror game series of all time.
Having no experience with Escape from Demon Castle Dracula, I think this looks cool, and I wish you all the success!
Oh wow, I'm so sorry I missed this comment a while back! And our naming mishap 😅 please feel free to keep your planned adventure name, no qualms from my side. I'd be overjoyed for people to come across both of our very-specifically-inspired passion projects haha.
I just bought Enter the Survival Horror and it looks fantastic. Deep and nuanced and fun, and full of that perfect tension.
Looking forward to your first adventure!
